42 Positive Thinking Affirmations

If you are a firm believer in the phrase ‘you are what you think you are’ then life truly stems from your thoughts. Affirmations can help translate your thoughts into words that will eventually impact your actions to manifest your intentions.

You have probably come across the term but what does it actually mean?

Affirmations are positive reminders that can help you overcome self-sabotaging, negative thoughts. They are often used to encourage self-empowerment and to motive yourself. The idea is simple - fostering a belief that a positive mental attitude supported by affirmations will achieve success in anything!

Affirmations can help take your world from negative to positive in just a few minutes. They also give you a stable base in your mental reality to work from. Their effects may feel awkward and mild to begin with, however over time, using affirmations will help you grow a more positive existence and energy.

This is probably a given but, affirmations work best when personally written. I know it can be difficult to get an idea of what to say or write but start with terms like ‘I am’, ‘I can’ and ‘I will’. I have created a list to give you a sense of how to start.

Tips:

Some recommendations suggest that you do affirmations first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Others recommend putting your affirmations on notes/cards and leaving them in plain sight, for example, a sticky note in your bathroom mirror, the steering wheel in your car, your laptop or computer, or in your purse or wallet - be sure to place it in an area you frequently visit.

Your affirmations are strongest if you see them in several forms. Thinking them, saying them and writing them down.
